Question Braided sheath ethernet patch cables - did I get hosed?

exactly how many new patch cables do you need? I can't recall the last time I broke one. Braided is the wrong jacket for patch cable anyway.

Buy flat ethernet cable and tape it on the floor or on the skirting board of dry wall.

Short flat ethernet cable absolutely works.

And yeah, why do you have to buy the cable for him? You are not his nanny.

Maybe hosed, maybe not. If they work and he stops breaking them, then you're good. If they're not as durable as expected, then ya....hosed a bit.

Tell him to source his own cables.

I agree, but my friend seems to be capable of going through them.

WTF does he have a small ferret or rodents that goes nomnomnom on it as he lets it lose in the room?

You would need to treat it very poorly to go though cables that quickly.
Or is he just rolling over them with his chair constantly? in that case maybe a floor cord hider / shield would be more preferred.
