on my current system ... for ever .. on the system I will be building below ... shooting for a few seconds !

ehh.. 11 secs, but then I also have browser, and MSVS 5.0 opened and also word 2000 and AIM and ICQ and other stuff...

mainly because of my HD, I have all the fonts installed, when I do my Raid setup it should be in the sub 5s...

Just ran it again.. hmm.. time goes down to 6s, same environment, w/ all those programs opened, looks like Photoshop 6.0 is really cache demanding...

Longer than 5.5 used to.. I'm using 6 now, takes a while, don't know exactly and I ain't bustin out the stop watch either..

Photoshop 5.5 : 8 seconds @ 900Mhz. Right under 7s @ 945mhz. Keeping 900 for less heat not to open photoshop faster :)

4 seconds for PhotoShop 5 LE (repeated measurements with a stopwatch) in Windows 98SE and 106 MHz FSB.

oooh oooh oooh I win. 14 seconds, Photoshop 5.5...bigger numbers are better, right? :)

PIII-450, 384MB RAM, UDMA-66 7200 RPM HD.

Never timed it, but would guess about ten seonds...(I got a lot of fonts too...)

Are these times for the first time that you opened Photo Shop after restarting Windows or have you opened Photo Shop before on this start up? My PIII 500 with 256MB takes 15-20 seconds the first time and only 5 the second time. I can't believe the times you are getting, I have checked several computers from 500-1Ghz and the initial start is much slower. R

ok checked again. The first startup takes 7-8 seconds! I think it is time to upgrade ;)

15 Seconds here on P3 1 Ghz..

have quite a lot of fonts to be read.

1.85 V. Other settings don't matter..air cooled with alpha 6035 and a sunon fan btw.
