We are running low on them chickens.....

At least they sent us 50 cases of wings Friday, the 1st we've seen in almost two weeks, they will be gone in a day, restaurants will try and grab as many as possible when the sales Reps tell them they are back in stock.

I just look at the ad of this week from the local grocery store and it has breasts, drumsticks, and thighs for $0.97/lb. with no limit or demand (such as buy another $10 worth of grocery to get this low price). I will stop by later today/tomorrow and see how much they have in stock.

I did stop by the store (both locations) and both of them ran out of breasts, only had legs and thighs. I do like breasts better.

Went to Sam's today. They had most varieties of chicken, from whole chickens to trays of wings. Sign that purchase of all fresh chicken was limited to 6 total.

Picked up a couple trays of wings, and a rotisserie, which they had plenty of.

Need to take some pics when I do the wings. Learned from a "flower child hippy" at a blue grass festival decades ago, thus know in the family as "hippy chicken"
Grill medium/low. Liberal sprinkle with Texas Pete and soy sauce. Turn every 5 min and reapply Texas Pete and soy sauce. Turning and seasoning frequently allows the Pete/Soy to create a nice coating. Continue to turn and season every 5 till done. Time depends on the size of the pieces and the grill. Typically, 25 - 30min on wings, 40ish for leg quarters and breasts.

I've experimented with other hot sauces, but the Texas Pete flavor is key.

Apparently Tysons cocks are not performing well and they are going to have to go back to the cocks they used previously to get the hatchling numbers to where they should be. Essentially Tyson’s(the largest chicken producer) had substandard cocks and that’s part of the reason why there are shortages.

Performance anxiety?

We got in 200Cs today, maybe the worst is over, I did notice they are sizing them all whereas before you just had regular and jumbo.

I went to the same store yesterday and low and behold, it had several packs of breasts for even lower price ($0.87/lb.) in another cooler (not the main one) and the low price was not on the weekly ad. Guess who will get some breasts for dinner/lunch? :D
