Hi all,

I've just bought a DIMM of 256 Mo for my BP6 (RU bios).
The DIMM is double sided.

My problem is that the bios only shows 128 Mo.

Does someone knows how to solve this problem??

If im not mistaken you have bought High density ram..

The BP6 handles maximum 768MB maximum memory with 256MB uncompressed DIMM per slot.

I don't think it is possible for the board to recognize the higher density ram. Sorry return it or get a new mobo is my suggrestion.

Well, I don't know what you call High Density ram.
What's sure is that this one has 16 chips onboard.
So I guess it's 16*16Mo to get 256Mo.

I've read somewhere that there are troubles with
one-sided 256 Mo DIMM ie 8*32Mo with the old chipsets
like the BX, that's why I was confident in buying this
one.

Well too bad, I guess I'll have to send it back.

Thanks for your reply.
