Ok i think ive got the jist of it. I think its an f-ing dumb idea, i HATE games with too many expansion packs, which is basically what these "booster packs" are, tiny expansions distributed digitally for a lower than usual price, 9.99USD it said where i read. Didnt see anything about a monthly fee though, just $10 per booster pack.
Bit off topic but just thinking about other game developers. Blizzard does everything right, only 1 expansion per game, not releasing garbage and taking their time with games, its been what 8 years since starcrafts release? have we seen starcraft 2? hell no, any announcements? nope, i would rather wait another 8 years than have a half baked version of the game. I would never pay monthly for the likes of WOW, but i have played it and it is as addicative as diablo II was for me, definately a very good game. Blizzard is what all other game companies should aspire to be like, they set the example. EA were once good but they went to hell when they got rich i suppose.
