Boy, here's a relic.

And we were lamenting when we broke $2...

now, that's a good price 🙁

<=== is part of the flock, baaaaaaah, baaaaah.

I ride the train to work now, but out the window I can see the gas prices of a lot of places. I saw $2.95 on the way to work today.

I bought gas at $0.33 a gallon reg,and $0.35 for medium Leaded.

Yeah, and by 1979 it was at around a dollar....which means an increase of around 300%....and all the kiddies are bitching now. Get over it. Gas is still cheap when compared to the late 70's early 80's if you factor in things like inflation etc.

Do you pay attention to history? in the late 90's when gas was down to $.79 it was priced the lowest it ever has been in history when adjusted for inflatoion and cost of living data. It was up to $1.20 just a few years prior which was still low compared to any other time in history. When I started driving in 1979 it was just during the second oil crisis and gas jumped from $.65 up to almost a dollar is a relatively short period. People in California were paying $1.20 for regular in 1979-80. All the kiddies and young adults bitching now just happened to grow up in a historical period of the LOWEST gas prices ever (underpriced is a better term) and now they can't deal with the reality of gas being priced more where it should be.

I think we got down to about $0.79 in Miami.

unless you drive tons, the gas prices aren't really that big of a deal. Look at the rest of the world, I think the gas prices here are still the lowest

And have been for quite some time. When I lived in The Netherlands in 1969-70 as a child my dad told me recently that the gasoline was close to $2 US then....kind of puts things in perspective doesn't it?

Heh I had a job for a while in high school at a gas station. $0.289 per gallon for regular leaded. I got paid a whopping $1.75 an hour then.
