Wow, one bronze. Whoop dee doo! Australia, a country 2/3 the population, has 14 medals and Canada has a medal in syncro diving. Freaking North Korea has 3 medals, and even Cuba has 4. Great Britain is another one to keep your eye out for, and drink your sorrows away, as the GB athletes probably do too often (60 million people in the country and they can only produce two medals so far). I know that Canada does better in the winter olympics, but their summer program really needs to be taken outside and have some sense beaten into it. It makes me wish I had been an athlete, so that it wouldn't be so shameful, and maybe I could have won a medal :D

Let's not be too hasty now. There are a lot of events still left, including track and field (expect the US to pull away soon)

Australia, now that's a country with a lot of medals for a small population. China has more than a billion people, so there should be a few good athletes among them.

The Canadians will win a few in rowing for sure. We've got a few boxers who might surprise, and then there's judo and wrestling as well. Might pull one or two off in track, but we'll see. Oh, and how about our baseball/softball teams? They're doing really well as well. Just be patient. I, however, fvcking hate the CBC's coverage.

I got up at 4 am because they said that there'd be rowing on. I wanted to watch the guys I know race in the men's 8. They showed a race in the men's pair, (5 and a half minutes or so of race time), and then sat around bullsh1tting for over 20 minutes. They spoiled the results from the other races and then told me when I could see these spoiled races later on in the afternoon.

FVCK YOU CBC!!! <^> :| <^>

Let us not forget that Canada is tied with Mongolia.

Shouldn't India have more than just a single silver too? They have almost a billion people and they're behind Poland and the United Arab Emirates in the medal count...

I remember seeing a good article about India's poor athletic heritage. I forgot which magazine it was in....

Argh, too bad the Canadian rowing pair was disqualified. Yeah, they were in the South African lane, but they qualified anyways, and it was obvious the Canadians would have made it through and were definite medal contenders. Shoulda had a 7 boat final.

Don't complain.... just watch Mexico's standings   :brokenheart: :( :|

We will be lucky if we get more than 2 medals, and you are talking of a country with over 100 million people...... well, at least our olympic coverage on TV is kicking @$$. Everything live! ;)
