And Mrvile...who the fvck are you to say if someone is wanted or not in our society?

Are you fscking high?

Have you EVER been forced to defend yourself against someone with a weapon AFTER you've been beaten over the head with said weapon?

Do you think everything is the movies?

If a loved one of mine broke a broom handle over a cops head and continued to attack him I would not be surprised or shocked that he was shot.

To call this murder is so absurd, I wouldn't believe someone would do so... until I saw your post.

I know quite a few 14 year olds who could beat the living sh!t out of you... and that's sober. Put them on mind altering drugs and it would take a tank to stop them.

A 14-year-old, generally speaking, is as dangerous as, and often more dangerous than an adult. He is physically mostly grown, yet has little or no sense of consequence. An out-of-control 14-year-old with a sharp stick who is not deterred by mace is a dangerous person, and there's no reason a cop shouldn't defend himself in this situation IMO.

bahahaha, cant expect a better post from a neo con. By the way dirtbag, I am NOT a trained police officer and have never been faced by a weapon as deadly as a stick. How is this any different say if one kid punches another in the face in a playground fight and the other kid pulls out a gun and shoots him.

the boy was evidently in a crazed state, armed with essentially a stake after breaking the stick over the officer's head. it's a very different situation.

"neo-con?"

Please explain, in detail, just how it is that I'm a "neo-con?"

How is it different? Well, let's see... The cop already had a fscking concussion and multiple cuts on his head. And the kid was coming back to do more damage. The cop TRIED to stop him using non-deadly force and it failed.

What should the cop do? Stand there and take a deadly beating to ease YOUR conscience?

Yeah I hate it happend, but as it has been pointed out he was shot in the shoulder. He had to have bleed to death, which makes me wonder about how that happened with a trained first responder and a call for an ambulance in an officer involved shooting. But still, at face value it looks like the PO did nothing wrong.

At 15 I was nearly 6'0" and 170lbs of muscle from chopping wood/working at a lumberyard.

It is fairly possible that the kid was of similar size, and so in that case a woozy cop that just got bonked on the head would have trouble disarming someone with a spear...

What would you have done in this situation? He was struck with a weapon and had already tried mace.

I seriously hope you do. Matter of fact, go out right now and start swinging a broom at people. Then when the cops show up, go after them. Feel free to have a note in your pocket that says "MercenaryForHire from ATOT told me to do this" - bonus points if it gets mentioned on the news, and a gold star if the news cameras show up to interview me.

More about the shooting and a very different reason for the officer(s) being called to the house.

"The youth's mother - a state correctional officer - called police to her home in the 300 block of Font Hill Ave. about 9:30 a.m. with a report that her son was assaulting her, according to Lt. Col. Glenn Williams, the department's Area 2 commander."

It will be interesting to see the exact cause of death. If the officer shot the youth in the shoulder did the bullet hit an artery or was the cause of death something else.

My 13 year old brother is 5'11" and 175 lbs. I bet he can beat the crap out of you with or without a jagged broomstick.

My 15 year old brother is 6'1, 225lbs, maxes out on a bench at 205 and can max squat almost 300lbs.

Give him a broomstick, some drugs, and I'm sure he'd be able to take a vast majority of people that are unarmed.

The officer was wrong to shoot the kid. I hope the mother wins in court. The kid was wrong, but that doesn't mean his death should be taken lightly. Deadly force should only be used as a last resort. Agents of government are always trying to gain more power over the people they are supposed to be serving. That needs to be kept in check. The only way to really do it is through the legal system.

The officer mased the kid, and the kid was still coming at him - what more do you expect the officer to do before he used his last resort - start running?
