An 11-year old boy in New Zealand has become a father after conceiving a child with a 36-year-old mother of a school friend.

The woman coerced the boy, from Auckland, into repeated sexual encounters over a period of time before becoming pregnant, the New Zealand Herald newspaper reported.

The woman gave the boy beer to drink and then later took part in a sexual encounter with him, the report said.

The Child Youth and Family Services, which took a baby into care about two months ago, confirmed it was dealing with a case at school and that it was before the courts.

According to the report, both the father and child are now understood to be in care after the principal at the boy's school raised the alarm.

The case has caused counsellors working in the area of child sexual abuse to highlight the lack of attention given to women as potential offenders.

It has prompted Justice Minster Judith Collins to step in saying she will seek more information on the law.

"This case raises an impotant point. I will seek advice from officals on whether or not a law change is required."

And it has highlighted disparity in the law of rape, which makes it impossible for a woman to be accused of the crime. Present legistlation stipulates the crime of rape applies only when men force sex.

In contrast, women who force an unwilling partner to have sex faces charges of sexual violation. Both carry a maximum sentence of 20 years but only men can be charged with rape.

The principal said he was shocked when the child revealed the details. The boy approached him in his office about two-thirds of the way through the 2012 school year and told the principal he had a disclosure to make.

"You won't be very happy with me," he recalled the boy saying. He said he had been having sex with his friend's mother" and it needs to stop".

The principal said the boy was "very aware" of the situration he was in and determined he wanted the contact to end.

New Zealand is awesome! Just kidding, that kid's probably going to be pretty messed up.
 
kids nowadays get earlier fertility due to various reasons. The high population contributes to it as it's all hormones getting pissed and the depurators don't catch those so they end up in the fish I guess.

Anyway this kid met "teh crazies" too early.

I think I was wacking off at the age of 8 or 9 so too.

This wasn't common since my friend at same age told me what he discovered he can do with his peepee which made him feel good.

So is he automatically relieved from ever having any responsibility or allowed contact with the child? I ask since the boy didn't do anything illegal yet the mother did, I wonder if he had any legal ground to stand on assuming he actually wanted to in regards to contact or guardianship..etc even though he can't even get a job I assume over there. More sad for the newborn than anyone else, probably has to grow up with a foster family if anyone adopts him/her.

I would guess that because the mother seduced the boy, she will bear full legal responsibility for this.

While I'm typically in favor of allowing consensual partners of any age to have sex with each other, 11 is a little young and a 27 year age gap is a little much. Had it been an 11 year old and a 13 year old, that'd be different. But 11 and 38 is a bit too far.

I don't necessarily believe it should be criminal, but she should be required to fully pay for the child.

An 11 year old is incapable of caring and providing for a baby. It should stay with the mother. Visitation should be a matter discussed between them.
