Box that pops up when gaming?

What is this box that pops up in the top left corner?
It happens in a lot of fps games.

If anyone knows a way to disable it please help.

I can't see the image here at work, but if it's in the top left my guess is it's the command console. Are you accidently hitting the tilde key while you play? That will usually pull it up.

That's what it looks like. It's capturing his keypresses.
 
some type of text box, either something enabled in game or one of those run in the background social connection programs that was activated.
 
I think it may be the stickykeys thing in Windows when you hold down the shift key too long.

Or maybe you have two languages set up in the language menu for the keyboard
 
Not caps, just shift :3

I tried hitting the tilde key on purpose in combination with other buttons but it doesn't do anything.

Anyone have an idea on fixing it?
 
It looks like an IME field, probably activated by Ctrl + Space or something like that. Turn off other language inputs in Control Panel\Language
