box has DVI & VGA out. how can I get this to a TV?

I'm pretty sure that's specific to their video cards. You can get VGA->S-Video transcoders, but a) it will look like crap, and b) it would probably cost more than a new PCI video card would.

What kind of video card has dual-head DVI and VGA but not S-Video out? That's an awfully odd combination.

What about something like this?

I'm not sure if that will work with regular monitors... it's *not* just a pin change going from VGA to S-Video, so you generally need a real scan converter.

You might try contacting ASUS directly to see if they can send you the proper output plug/cable. I didn't realize you were talking about onboard video rather than a video card.

Why they would put all of these components, including PARALLEL and make the spd/if & tv-out as add-on boards is beyond me.

To be fair, the number of people who connect computers to SDTVs (rather than monitors or HDTVs) is pretty low. Not that there are a ton of parallel printers still in use either...
