Maybe it's an attempt to poke fun at Xbox 360 for using a media format that has less capacity than Blu-Ray? Not sure why they used CD cases instead of DVD cases, that didn't make a lot of sense.

Oh I get it, MGS4 will come with a collection of classical music.

Meh. Depends on how big the game is. So far it looks like the biggest game (Resistance) is 15.54GB. That's two DL DVDs.

And yeah, the joke isn't even funny.

The thing is I doubt that the game will have a full Blu Ray disc full of content, I anticipate LOTS of cutscenes.

Except that it's probably huge on Blu-ray because they're authoring all the cut-scenes in 1080p and using MPEG-2 with MP3 to compress them. If they cut it down to 720p and use VC-1, I bet they can fit everything into one or two DVD-9s.

I don't know if you realize this but even 9 GB is a huge amount of storage for textures and game assets.

It took me a while to get it ROFL. MS has manage to stuff a whole lot on DVD's though.
