Bourne Supremacy --- does it suck?

Is it true that the Bourne Supremacy has a lot of scenes that are very dark and hard to see? Also, how good was this film?

I totally agree...I thought it was actually very well made.

Ok, good to hear. I am having a movie nite on Saturday and I was reading some reviews saying the dvd made some scenes nearly unwatchable because it was so dark?? wtf...

No, not dark, but the shaky cam thing was really annoying sometimes. Not all the time, but there were a lot of parts where they could have had a steady cam and it would have been 100% better. I watched some of the DVD features to find out why they did that and they said something about wanting to put you "in the scene" right there with Bourne. Oh well. It was a cool movie though, I liked them both. I thought the girl's acting in the first one wasn't very good, sometimes she would act like a ditz and sometimes she would act really smart and it just wasn't consistant. But the mini was awesome

I thought it was a great movie - except for the shaky cam thing. I liked the plot, acting, etc. Its the perfect movie if you are epileptic.

I liked it better than the first one. The shaky cam was nice but overused.

I dont think you can go wrong with it though.

I really didn't think the "shaky cam" affect was overused. I guess is just doesn't bother me, but I do think it makes you feel much more apart of the action. I think the director did a wonderful job of bringing the intensity of the action to screen.

A movie where I think the shaky cam and speed editing was over used was Man on Fire...but I still loved that movie...and I have to give Tony Scott credit for definitely providing a good atmosphere to his movies (even if it is almost always the same).

Story line was alright. The camera action sucked because it made the movie hard to watch. It might be better when it's not on the big screen.

Why did I like the first movie better than the second??? Because it was more mysterious. You didn't know who Jason Bourne was....but neither did he. It was an interesting plot. The second movie definitely had plenty of action, but I don't think you could have made it any better without changing the story. (maybe by using tripods for the camera work rather than having some guy carry the camera on his shoulder)

When we saw it in theatre, we had to leave half way through because my wife was getting motion sickness, and even my stomache was turning. Who's brilliant idea was to shake the camera the entire movie?

This is as intended by the director, not a problem with warez versions or whatever. It was ridiculously overused. I half expected the credits to be shaking around. While I'd give the first one a 7, this one got about a 4. Well, ok 5 - it's nice to see the director not discriminate against epileptic cameramen.

Didn't really notice the shaky cam, but the movie wasn't as good as the first one. Still decent, though. It was only dark in a few scenes.

It wasn't a terrible movie but the constant use of the FOX ACTION SERIES HANDICAM camera work was un-fscking-believably annoying. I guess it's supposed to contribute an air of "gritty realism" to the flick, but it just irritated me.
