I received my new EGM on Friday and it had an ad for this game that said "Download the Demo NOW!" but it was nowhere to be found on XBL. Glad to see it finally made it, I'd like to check this out.

I played it over at my friends house today. It is certainly interesting, and the action is there. Sometimes though, it feels as you are just pushing a random button here and there for a sort of "choose your own cinematic story".

Finally tried this out last night. Nothing spectacular, but it might be worth a rental. I did enjoy it.

The hand to hand combat system is cool, but I wish it was a little deeper. You can do two kinds of punches using X and Y, combos using these, as well as a hard kick you have to charge by holding X or Y. As you successfully punch someone, there's a meter that builds up which lets you perform takedowns by pressing B. Bourne does his signature joint breaking, body-slamming fighting moves when these are performed and often throws the enemy into a nearby piece of environment, or sometimes even uses a nearby object. Some of the tougher enemies will require a couple of takedowns, and the boss at the end of the demo needed several of these before he was eliminated.

There are a lot of interactive cutscene situations as you progress, a la God of War. These work well enough, although sometimes I think I would fail them because I was holding the RB to run when they appeared.

The shooting gameplay is decent, complete with requisite cover system, but the controls don't feel as smooth and precise as something like Gears of War. Similiar to the fighting, as you take out enemies your takedown meter fills up, and you can perform weapon takedowns by pressing B. This time it will prompt you to press a certain button like the interactive cutscenes.

The driving portion was the worst part of the demo. It felt pretty generic and for some reason reminded me of the James Bond: Agent Under Fire PS2 game from a few years ago, except even less complex. There were interactive cutscenes here as well at the end of the driving portion (which was the end of the demo).

Again, nothing new or spectacular here (aside from the combat, perhaps), but not necessarily atrocious either. About as good as can be expected from this type of game (movie tie-in).

I just tried it. Too annoying, unskippable mini-cutscenes you've gotta watch several times because you'll probably fail everything at least once ... too much shaky camera from the movies. Not enough sexy Matt Damon. Oh well.

Agreed... well except for the matt damon thing. The fighting is alright but falls short with games like Devil May Cry 4 and Ninja Gaiden 2 around. The quicktime events are annoying as hell and in a full game would frustrate me to no end. But still better than I expected from a sort of movie tie in.

Hand to hand combat is extremely repetitive - X X Y combo! A to block the counterattack! X Y Y combo! B to takedown! Over and over and over again. Shooting is better, but a little floaty.

My major complaint is with the demo is that you seem to get .333333 of second to press the correct button to do things like evade the sniper's bullets, or drive under a closing security cage. After you fail to press the right button, a cutscene of you dying/being arrested plays and the reload time to try again is > 15 seconds. Gah.

I found it annoying because I was already mashing 'Y' to run faster and then the cutscene comes up and I just hit 'Y' again, yet I was supposed to hit 'B' so I failed the event 🙁. Supposedly there's a noise that plays when an event is coming, but I never heard one or I must not realize what it is.
