Bought Xbox1, came in shoddy packaging, what should I do?

Feel free to read my heat too if you want, it's under Viper GTS.

It's not really a waste of resources if you just recycle what you have. I usually keep packing material I receive from anything that I have shipped to me. Barely takes 5 minutes to package it properly but it makes the buyer feel better about his purchase. Plus it does give the item a greater chance of working properly upon receipt.

It's just always better to be safe than sorry. I would also never call a trader of mine a "crybaby". Act like a man and take care of the situation. Work with that person to resolve the issue. Name calling just proves you're immature and I personally wouldn't want to deal with anyone who stooped to that level.

The number of heatware might make your e-p3nis bigger, but that doesn't mean you're a good trader.

Excess packaging increases shipping costs. And if you really wanted to get tree-huggy about it I suppose there could be an argument for all the wasted fuel and air pollution, etc (not that I care, but someone might).

Your last sentence is what really matters. As long as the shipper assumes the risk they can package how they like IMO. I package well because I'd rather not take the risk, or deal with damaged items.

There is no grounds for neutral, negative, or DNT listing someone over something so trivial.

I sent him the PM about my concerns, but he was more concerned about the wrong cable (and he was quite concerned). He didn't mention the packaging. He did promise to get the cable mis-hap fixed. In my original message to him, I didn't mention that I tested it out (with another cable) so that to him, I don't know if it works yet or not. I figure that it buys me a week in case something does in fact go wrong.

I don't want crazy excess packaging. I was just hoping to see some styrofoam. Some padding. Some anything to know that if it got dropped or whatever there would be something between the xbox and whatever it hit.

I'd have just slapped a a few stamps on the xbox, superglue the controller and cables to the xbox, and send the mess to you. And you will like it.

Maybe we should make something clear here, I did not sell this guy the xbox

Eh, it definitely calls for a neutral at the very least. Express packaging material is free so that's not even an issue. And regardless of whether they send it via ground or air, there?s still no excuse whatsoever for shoddy packaging. That's just what differentiates a good seller from a poor one.

He sent the item, on time, had good communication and the product works. Aside from a bit of packaging, head over to BestBuy if you want things nice and fresh.

That said, he should ship you the power cable for sure; but as for the rest it seems a bit uptight to me. On FS/T, you get what you pay for.

And finally, no, I would not pack this way, but if I got an item that had no styrofoam but worked and was in the condition that I expected it to be, I would not complain.
