Bought the wife a new car

The transmission starting slipping pretty bad on her 03 Impala so we finally decided to trade it in. She wanted a small SUV, I wanted a car for the gas mileage. We met in the middle and ended up with an 09 HHR. Certainly wouldn't be my pick but she's happy with it. It's an 09 with 28k and we paid 11.8k. Not the best price but not to bad. I like the gas mileage and warranty, she liked the utility. Got right at what we owed on here old car, which was what had to happen, I wasn't rolling anything over. Got a decent rate so in the end I was pretty happy with the deal. It is a nice feeling having a warranty on both our cars for a change.
 
I had one of those for a rental car (gold color). It was actually pretty fun. It's like a mini tank car!
 
Bought the first car while my wife was in school. Kind of hard to pay back quickly with a family of four with one government employee income. Now she's out so we are planning on paying this one off in three years. Bought my car last year and are around 2k on the good side with it.
 
Smart move getting an HHR used. Great value and . . .
I drove a new HHR for a few days--Felt like the "new car" fumes were going to suffocate me. Unlike the typical new car smell, the HHR's was very unpleasant.

Not really related but--I'm driving a new rental Kia Soul now. It's much noisier than the HHR in terms of engine noise and road noise. Also very distinctive wind noise/whining on both sides. Could be the sideview mirrors? (Under calm weather conditions.) The Soul's interior is very nice for an econo-box with a surprisingly good base stereo. I guess those hamsters like their music loud :awe:
 
my stepdad has one of these and although im not a fan of the styling exterior wise it seems like a well put together car.
 
Thanks guys, everything's go well so far. No issues and no complaints from her. A/C is nice and frosty cold in this damned heat wave. Still happy with the purchase.
