I am looking at a few and can't decide which is best. They will be using Rosetta Stone, plus all of their school work will be done on these. Of course they will want to play a game every now and then. :)

1. - $449 - Toshiba - Satellite Laptop / AMD A-Series Processor / 15.6" Display / 4GB Memory / 320GB Hard Drive - Matrix Silver

2. - $329 - Toshiba - Satellite Laptop / AMD E-Series Processor / 15.6" Display / 3GB Memory / 320GB Hard Drive - Black

3. $299 - Gateway - Laptop / AMD E-Series Processor / 15.6" Display / 4GB Memory / 250GB Hard Drive - Satin Black

4. $299 (after Rebate) - HP 2000-210US Laptop Computer With 15.6" LED-Backlit Screen & Intel® Pentium® P6200 Dual-Core Processor

The $329 Toshiba and $299 Gateway would be fine for kids.

Rosetta Stone costs more than the computers cited. Whew! I generally support gmaster's response. BTW - how old are these kiddos?

Oh, . . . and this is NOT the wrong forum. I believe we are discussing pre-built PCs?

Nine and Thirteen.

I had it posted in off topic and it was moved :)

The 350 g6 at Staples looks like my best bet.

Thanks

any of those with SSD would be a pleasure to use. and a cheap $150 used desktop would play most games (how much i paid for a nice asus essentio quad core complete).

Go for the most ram and CPU/GPU - regardless of size - then bop an ssd in there.
