Bought some bacardi 151 last night

I'm sure I am the last person on this forum to try it, but my god that sh!t is strong.
I can usually do 3-4 shots of regulars rum (40%) before I start buzzing.
I did 1 shot, and within minutes I was buzzing bad, almost feeling sick, so I ate something. And then I did another shot. But I read online this morning that it's not recommended for straight up consumption, like shots. Unless they are flaming shots which I will never do.

Any recommendations for good drinks made with Bacardi 151? Something that will dull the horrible taste.

Why not buy some alcohol that doesn't taste like asshole?

I have some. But I bought that as well, just to try it out. So I plan to use it.
And it doesn't taste like asshole. It tastes like rubbing alcohol smells.

I've only had 151 one time and that was enough. It was a shot someone bought me and my gf at the time in a bar. I think I felt a little piece of my liver die that day after I drank that shot.

I've had it straight up and mixed. It's not good in any form. Same goes for Everclear. Anything over about 120 proof just isn't worth it.

That stuff was the best. I used to drink it with a super big gulp and polish off 3/4 of a bottle in a 2-3 hour time span sometimes, then wake up on the couch in the same position i was the night before with ESPN still on.


The bar I worked at actually had it so i would take a few shots whenever I was in there. I called it rocket fuel bc of its flame retardent cap on it.

God i miss the college days

Man...I used to love 151, even now I'll occasionally get a Coke and drop some in. Back when I was young & irresponsible, 151 is what clued me in to the fact that I probably had a drinking problem (popping the flame guard off and drinking it straight is generally a bad thing).

Absinthe is great. I have 4 bottles of the real stuff from over in Europe.

The only Absinthe worth having is the ones with the wormwood and THUSION

But I was a smart college student who understood value.

I could pay $20 for a handle of vodka which ill kill relativly quickly or I could spend the same for 151, take a few shots or make a wuick drink before I went out and the stuff would tune me up as well as last me a whole week

I ate a full dinner, then started going shot for shot with a friend. After about 5 I sat down since the room was spinning; could barely walk to the party that night, and puked shortly after I got there!

Well the main reason you felt like that was because it hit you all at once since you were doing shots relativly fast.

I like to make a shot called "Dragons Breath" with it. 1/2 shot Cinnamon liquer (I like Firewater the best) and layer 1/2 shot 151 on top. Light the 151 on fire and shoot. Fun shot.

Hmm i've never had it and don't plan on it lol. I did try southern comfort this last weekend and fell in love though! They had a special buy a 750ml of southern comfort and get a half gallon of egg nog free. Was actually a good combo.

Do you layer the Jager in between the liquer and 151? Or just take another shot of jager afterwards while the cinnamon flavor is still in your mouth? I'll have to try that next time.

Actually, no. Throw it all in a shaker with ice to chill it down, then pour into shots. There are a bunch of ways to make them, but thats my favorite way. All LC shots have 151 in them.

I am not really a fan of the pepperment and I think the Cinnemon is 10x better. Try some AFTERSHOCK cinn. liquor. Its pretty damn good and cheaper than Goldschlogger i think

i'm a 151 drinker myself. only drink it straight... dont do it often, but when i wanna get drunk its a cheap and fast way... i have to usually chase it with something... it has a horrible taste. yes i know i'm not capitalizing anything, shift key is broken... logitech g15 on the way
