i'm having a terrible time with this game. For starters, I go to the Options page to configure the game and the mouse acts like i'm dragging it through mud. it lags so far behind that it's a guessing game as to where it will end up.

lag doesn't seem noticeable in game unless i come up against some bad guys - then the mouse slows down considerably.

I have even tried video settings on Low even though it auto-detects to High.

Vsync is off, so is AF. running at 1024 x 768 on my Dell 2405fpw.

good thing i only paid 4.95 for this.

any ideas?

thanks,
rp.

btw, my normal FPS, BF2142, runs like a champ. so it must be some dumb setting.

Are you using two displays? If so disable the second one in nVidia's control panel.

yes, i have 2 displays configured - 2405fpw & an infocus Projector - although, i don't have it on at the time.

yes, drivers should be updated.

thanks, i'll try disabling the 2nd display & check drivers.

The exact same thing happened when I downloaded the Enemy Territory demo - mouse lag on the Config screen which makes NO sense because there's really not much going on.

This a known issue with nVidia drivers (and ATi too?) and OpenGL games, especially Doom 3 based ones. Unless you disable the second display, performance tanks.
