Sooo.... I haven't been skating for about four years now, because I broke a buckle on my previous blades, and it was time for them to go anyway. Then we had a kid, and I was too busy, yada-yada, lots of excuses - you name it.

Anywho, I finally got myself a new set - and these are top of the line Rollerblade Speedmachine 110. Anything beyond that, and you are talking about shoes that don't cover the ankle, and it takes a lot of control to stay on top of those in a fast run.

I got them today, put them on in the afternoon and gave it a good run. Damn, even though I was four years out of the loop, I easily caught up and passed a few skaters going full speed on the trail.

Hellz yeah! Gotta do some Wednesday night skating at Stanford again!

[insert obligatory 'yourgay' jokes here!]

i prefer hockey skates myself, even for distance (10-15 miles, 1-1.5 hrs).

Heh, I looked at this post, then the link and read the description and thought to myself... long distance skating? Marathons? Trails? This has to be in California.

Then I look at the location in the first 3 posts... yep. California. :p
