Well finally found what I wanted. 1996 Oldsmobile Bravada, only 42k miles🙂D), pretty much loaded, leather, cd, etc. Only had 1 owner and is in really good condition for being a 96. They were asking $8,700, ended up paying 8,000 out the door(taxes & tags incl.) which will be roughly $200 a month for 48 months based on my loan terms. Likely I will pay $300 a month to get it paid down quicker. The out the door price was below what Edmund's "Dealer Retail" price should have been for this vehicle considering the mileage. Clean Carfax report, it is pretty sweet I think. 🙂

Anyway here's some pics I took:

I have always had a thing for the Bravada... when I saw this and then saw the mileage and price, I couldn't resist. I think they're awesome looking.

The only thing missing is the front Olds emblem, but they have one on order for me. 🙂

You know that somewhere out there is a Gangster with your emblem around his neck. 🙂

Not my first choice of vehicle, but you went about buying it EXACTLY like I would. I remember your topic about what would be a good SUV to buy. At the time, i figured getting that Bravada would be a real long shot, but it's good to have a specific goal. Can't believe you pulled it off. Looks good, too!

That's exactly how I shop for used cars. Never swaying from my original choice. Hell, I make those choices for a reason! Why be deterred from following through? 😕

Happy Motoring!

They are great. And BTW the Bravada is the same car as the Chevy Blazer.

Thanks! 🙂 I didn't think I'd find one either in my price range. I looked at three of them, 2 of them were both $13,000(although REALLY nice, I didn't want to spend 13 + taxes etc.) Plus the guy at the first dealership was a total ass so I didn't want to buy anything from him regardless. Ended up running into my uncle at the mall and he told me they had another one at the dealership my mom bought her car from, stopped there and ended up driving this home for the weekend. I don't sign the papers til Monday since my bank isn't open on weekends, but they let me take it for the weekend to make sure it was what I wanted. Really great service there. (suzuki dealer)

all in all I am very satisfied. 🙂

Good purchase !!!
At first I thought you bought a used Oldsmobile for $8K but for a SUV, its a good deal.
