I ordered the RTX 3080 EVGA FTW3 Ultra today. Had to pay full price up front and provide/create a 4 digit PIN for pickup when it arrives. Expected delivery 2 weeks to 2 months. I am 6th in line for delivery. Last week there were 14 in line ahead, so it appears they are arriving.

**UPDATE** Picked it up today.

At least I paid the original MSRP. So $1309 CDN taxes in.

i do not recall the MSRP on that card being that high unless they increased it that much.
I could of sworm the STRIX 3080 retailed at 799.99 USD @ inital launch.

This i can definitely see killing off PC gamers.

It was $1169 CDN + tax at launch. Now at the same store it's $1349 + tax. We Canadians always seems to pay a bit more than the direct currency conversion.

yeah it wasn't that far off.

1169 is about 935.

But i know i think i saw it for 799.99 with the big out of stock sign next to it when i was looking for one.

Anyhow its a lucky buy.
I hope you have the monitor good enough to drive that card.
I got my brother a 6900XT though sweat and blood when i rebuilt his system, and he is using that to drive a 1440p @ 60hz.... i wanted to beat him black and blue, as that card can easily do 4k or 1440p @ 144hz, and its such a waste of a videocard like that.

Believe me, it is not a complete waste.

Under display settings turn on "virtual super resolution". Been playing ffxiv, and there is no worthy AA built into that game. The only way to avoid the shimmering* of "doom" is to render high and down scale.

I have a 1440p monitor @ 144hz, but at 5120x2880 super resolution (down sampled to 1440p) it chugs along around 60 fps in some areas. Does wonders for fixing the shimmer though and looks pretty good.
