I don't see how you could hate the front end of this car unless you're Oscar the Grouch. I'm a grumpy bastard and I love these cars. I try to drive by the Mazda dealership as much as I can so I can see the row of smiling faces grinning out at me.

'10 Mazda 3 sedan w/manual is about the only car I'd trade my truck in for. Maybe a Genesis with the V6.

Long overdue post 🙂

Awesome car, they definitely put a peach of an engine in that thing, loved the raw power when i test drove it but the torque steer, lack of auto drove me to the GTI, plus the nicer interior. (I am biased though)

Have fun with it

lol

speed3 is a great car which is why mazda actually extended its life. i think this is the first mazdaspeed to be produced for more than 2 years. but if youre into modding and getting more power, don't even try. the 2.3 MZR just doesn't want to make it.

What? I though the Speed3 was a pretty easy car to add power to? I know it's FF though, and adding power won't really do much in practical terms, but still.

I was talking more about big power. There's been maybe 1 or 2 speed3's that have broke 400whp and not a single speed6 has done it. These are with mods that would easily make 500whp on a subie or evo though.

And not to scare the OP but theres an unusual high case of blown motors if you decide to mod. 🙂

From what I read most blown motors and lack of power has to do with the direct injection and difficulties modding it cheaply. Just give it time and of course they're break it easily but it does seem harder right now to get big power from.

Not so bang for buck so probably the reason why.

Still I am hoping for a SP23 or Speed3 for my wife soon.

With direct injection being designed around the concept of "lean burn" and it being a turbo engine, you're playing with fire being among the first to learn how to mod it. I'm not surprised there is some difficulty of tuning and blown engines.

ex you always seems to over complicate car stuff. Surprised you didn't bring words like stoichiometric into this yet.

What's the point of a 400whp+ Speed3? It's FWD 🙁 300HP I can understand, but that seems about the point of diminishing returns to me for a FF layout.

You mean you drive your parents cars because you're 16.

STFU about your BS, not everyone wants a POS 96 civic. Some of us actually enjoy driving.

I missed the part where driving an old vehicle into the ground isn't "enjoying" driving.

Not to say I wouldn't take a new car, but your elitism can gtfo.

By the way, after reading a few threads, it seems like you guys have a problem. You might want to take it to PMs instead of wasting everyone else's forum space.

Nice looking car OP, I actually like the aggressive front-end they put on there. Small, light, fast, can't go wrong.

well my comment really only applies to 1% or less of the speed owners out there

Well, you missed a lot of history concerning Fleabag. The reference to the Civic is because of this thread
