Found a good deal on a used 2012 Sahara model, loaded with every meaningful option except limited slip. Matching hard top, soft top, heated leather, etc. Went from a beat up 2000 GMC Jimmy to this, and I couldn't be happier. I'm fully aware that other SUV's have much better handling, gas mileage, etc, but once I throw the top back I cease to care. These things sure have grown up over the years. It actually drives much better than I expected, and my expectations were low coming from an old Jimmy.

Unlimiteds look great with a lift and no doors.

very nice... some days i regret not getting a JK... but at the same time, I like not caring if my car gets messy and so forth (i've gotten poured on many times... only run a bikini top from spring to fall)

I should have gotten the U, but I just can't do a 4 door jeep. They are supposed to be 2 doors!!

Dang I've never been a fan of the Wranglers but those two look awesome in that color.

I'm jelly. I really want one, but it would be a terrible idea considering the length of my daily commute.

P.S. Pics?

So far on mine, I ditched the stupid hub caps and installed JKU rubi springs/shocks. I added the ebay side steps for the kids to get in easier and I have a procal waiting for new shoes.

My plan from the beginning was a 2.5" coil lift and some 33" tires with wheel spacers, but I'm not sure my son would be able to get himself into it if I did. They certainly do look badass lifted up.

Mine gained probably more than 2" just going to the Rubi coils and i'm happy with that. I was really surprised at how much I had to open everything up when I put them in. Afterwards, even my wife said "Man that thing needs bigger tires now!" I've been looking around but since the current pizza cutters have 2500 miles on them and they are basically worthless if you try to sell them, I'll just probably wait till they wear out and get something good then. That is, unless I run across that one deal I can't pass up.

I'd love to score a set of Hutchinson Rock Monsters, but they are fairly rare and I really can't justify the price for my basic mall crawler. Though, I did turn around in my side yard so it has been offroad!! ;)

I've owned two Jeeps, and I have to say they're pretty solid vehicles. Might get me a Rubicon as a fun car next :)

Just get used to water leaks. The hard top is worse than the soft top, FYI.

Jeep has had an absolutely terrible time with leaks since they came out with the JK in 2007, and they aren't any better in 2013 than they started off. Just terrible.

But maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones. Congrats, though. They are fun.
