good price and the place that's selling them is closing. I don't know anywhere else that sells them this cheap.

Sh!t, what're you gonna do with those?

erm, uber raver?

Nice.

I may purchase several thousand dollars worth of red(670nm wavelength - "far" red, just before infrared) and blue LEDs one of these days....

I didn't link it. Must everything be spoon fed to you forum whores? 😛

Yes 😀

Those are good prices, but I dont even know HOW to use LED's, let alone what for. Can they be hooked up to a 12 Volt power source, or do they need an inverter / power converter doo dad?

Most LEDs run on like 3V @ like 25mA 😛

I just use mine on stupid pet projects like changing LEDs on my electronics and stuff.

Yeah you can use a 12V power supply but you either have to use like 3 LEDs in series or use a resistor. You don't need fancy equipment to run it off 12Vs. Alot of people use them in their cars for show, like replacing the alarm LEDs or something.

So, what kind of resistor to hook up to 12 volt? How would I figure it out? Any other place to buy the LED?

LED's are just lasers right? There the same thing?

no, not at all. completely different, in fact. except that they make light.

No, they are Light Emitting Diodes.

I know. I was being dumber then usual there.
Light Emitting Diode
vs
Light Amplification something something something

**EDIT**
Stimulating and Radiation are also in there I think

LED = Light Emitting Diode

My highschool electronics teacher purchases LED's in the hundreds and he claims they only cost him cents per LED.

light amplification by stimulated emission of radation 🙂

there are laser leds too

anyway that's not that many leds.
