So two days ago I finally caved and purchased a 360 Premium with an extra wireless controller with a rechargable battery pack, the new stand alone charger and MotoGP. I have not purchased the network adapter yet. (How the fsck is that thing $100?!)

My question is, what are some great games out now or that will be comming out?

I know a lot of new sports games are on the horizon from EA. I am not a fan of shooters on a console because of the joysticks.

Oblivion
ghost recon AW

Make sure you take advantage of the ability to stream music, pics and video. Best feature in my opinion. And the controlle ris the best way to plays fps aside form the pc, it works great.

I've heard Ping Pong is a really good game. No, I'm dead serious. Try it, there's no BS in this post.

Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II has been getting some good reviews. Supposedly the multi-player is a blast on Live. I'm still waiting for my local Blockbuster to get it in so I can give it a try.

There's also COD2, PGR3, and the two michaels mentioned.

edit: Agree with Aflac. Rockstar's Table Tennis is surprisingly good. The online component is even better.

Also be sure to check out Arcade titles like Geometry Wars and UNO (yes, frickin' UNO).

fight night 3. Give call of duty and ghost recon a chance. I was the same way you are about no keyboard and shoto games but I got used to it quickly.

My apologies for not saying that I have Oblivion and GRAW for the PC. I am borrowing COD2 from a friend and find it somewhat boring.

How about racing games? I love the GT series for PS.

there's plenty of good games (as mentioned above) but i don't know about any great games. to me, the best part of the xbox is it's ability to stream music and pics, and also the live! network, with downloadable arcade games in particular.

Forza 2 is coming this fall and it rapes the GT series. Not to mention the GT-R series is coming to the 360 as well.

I've heard some good things about Project Gotham Racing and NFS. I'm not too sure about the racing games but of the ones that are out, one of them surely caters to your likings.

Good stuff guys.

Also, how am I going to get the 360 online? I'm assuming I need to setup a network through the computer then connect the 360 to it.

You can do that or a direct connection. It comes with the free basic Silver Live service which will allow the downloading of trailers, demos etc/. But Gold will cost 50 a year that allows online play. www.teamxbox.com is a great site for Xbox 360 news etc

Just get a router if you don't already have one. Plug your modem, PC, and 360 into that.

My modem is upstairs in my room. The 360 is downstairs hooked up the 52" DLP and 6.1 surround sound.

dead rising is coming out in september, prey came out yesteday. ncaa football 2007 is out next week.

i actually sprung for the MS wireless adapter after reading some reviews on how strong the signal is using it. they were right, my laptop get 2 bars in the same room, my xbox 360 gets 3-4 (out of 4, one less than the highest most of the time). it works a lot better than expected. however, it was still 100 bucks which was kinda hard to swallow. it also clips onto the back nicely.

Yeah, I tried a Linksys Gaming Adaptor first but it was just a big fat PITA. I went with the Xbox Wireless Adaptor and it was a breeze to setup and does a good job streaming everything but HD video from my PC in the office upstairs.

I've played a buncha games on the 360.

My only "must have titles" would be COD2 and Burnout Revenge. They both offered challenging and fun single player experiences, and online is even better. I can still play those games online and have a great time.

NFS:MW is also a really fun game, but single player is pretty easy and not too long, and not many people play it online anymore. Table Tennis is kind of worth $40. I'd rent it first. The online modes are great, but single player is really lacking. I also have been playing Top Spin 2 and NBA 2K6 recently and they are both good.

I also have (or have had) PGR3, Condemned, GR:AW, Kameo, Tiger Woods 2006, PDZ, DOA4, BF2, Moto GP, Fifa:RTWC, FN3, and I would not recommend purchasing any of those games. I just don't enjoy many of them for more than a week or so. PDZ, DOA4, and TW2K6 are definitely the worst out of those however. Condemned is cool but very short, and no replay value. FN3 is very basic and just gets old quick.

Pur goes through video games like Wilt Chamberlin went through women. ;)

Anyhow, I'm loving MotoGP 06. I think Thursday I'll pick up what I need to get the 360 online. Thanks for the suggestions guys, but everyone else should feel free to point out some pore. :)
