I like to leave my questions simple as i can to avoid flames.

I bought an Sli motherboard as future proof but i am not planning on using Sli right now...

So what else can i do with the board? Could i put a regular pci vid card in the other slot and use it as multi monitor, can i put other pci cards in that slot?

Thanks

PCIe != PCI.

You can't use PCI cards in a PCI Express slot.

You could get a cheap PCIe card and run up to four monitors.

to my knowledge, the 16x is downward compatible, so yes.

so is # 1 true or # 2?

1. pci express cards are compatible in pci slots
or
2. pci cards are compatible in pic express slots

So should i return my sli-dr and get an ultra-d or even sli-d. i Just dont understand wtf and my head hurts.

Can someone list in a brief list what is Ultra-D Ultra-Dr Sli-D Sli-Dr? Why am i spending money i dont have?
Also, on max settings, would a bfg/evga 6800 gt pci-e run smoothly?

sli-dr = extra RAID capabilities I believe, and I would just keep it, not worth the hassle to change, and it is a very good motherboard.

When you say 6800GT PCIe run smoothly @ max settings, what game are you talking about and what do you consider max.

lol will keep the mobo.

max settings mean all the bars maxed out, all the visual details present, and the video probly at 1024 X 1280 and probly 1600 X 1200... and games would be classic half life 2, farcry, etc. todays new games basically

You whould be ok but once you turn AA and AF up at those settings you may notice some lag in intense situations. But for the most part it will be a great computer :).
