Bought an eVGA 6600gt AGP card... no 4pin connector, will any one work?

I got it from NewEgg
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130220

It came will all the cables except the 4pin y adaptor for power. It seems like any 4pin off the power supply will fit... will it work? I assume there is nothing different from a standard 4pin off the powersupply and using the cable that comes with it.

Also, what is the word on 4x/8x agp cards working on 2x/4x motherboards? Some reviews say that people on newegg use this card on old 4x boards, I hope mine works.

Thanks.

No problem plugging a 4-pin molex connector from your power supply directly into the board. I am not sure about the answer to your question regarding using an 8x AGP card in an older 2x/4x AGP board. My initial feeling is that you should not have a problem. Maybe someone else could verify this...

All 8X cards are supposed to be backwards compatible to 4X speed/voltages. It shouldn't be a problem.

And yes, you can just plug in a regular PSU lead. The 'special cable' it comes with is just a Y-splitter, in case you don't have a spare 4-pin 'molex' plug...
