I've only used one, a $40 Leadtek card (Winfast TV Deluxe, I think?). I'm very pleased with it. It allows me to watch TV of course, record in most codecs for both audio & video (though my poor p4b can't handle realtime divx or anything :p), has a remote control and an FM radio tuner - though I don't use the remote since I use my cable box's instead. The more expensive ones have onboard encoding, but only very old PCs can't easily handle mpeg2 in realtime, from which you can then easily encode to another codec if you want, for higher compression (use VirtualDubMod for this).

I'd like to make 2 points here.

1. I'd be willing to bet that if you called up and addressed the error and your willingness to keep the card that they would infact leave you with the card at the price you paid for the AIW.

2. I've owned 3 AIW cards and while the concept is nice, if you really plan to be gaming on the PC then you'll want to upgrade your video card after a while which means that you'll have to invest in another AIW or buy 2 cards (gfx & tv tuner).

I personally would call them up and talk to them about the mix up and ask if I could simply keep it. Then I'd invest in a tv tuner card (w/ remote).

You'll either have it swapped out and get what you paid for OR you'll be blessed with the what you've recieved and invest in a seperate tv tuner.

I'd grab one of these. The picture quality is supposedly a bit better than the Hauppage. Like the WinTV PVR cards, it also has hardware accelerated MPEG-2 encoding and MCE driver support. It even comes with a remote (although not a GREAT one).
