bought a used waterblock for agp, how long before she corrodes on the inside?

I just got a used 6800 nv-68 dd wb.

It has some moisture in the block still, and maybe 2 or 3 speckles of green.

Can I lay this block flat and fill with antifreeze or something to delay the corrosion, I need about 7 days before it gets installed.

Or any other ideas to delay the corrosion?

Don't most of the water coolers use Zerex antifreeze - that stuff should preserve your blocks for a good long time. Submerging your block in a jar of 50/50 Zerex and distilled H2O should do no harm but is probably unnecessary - just store the block in a zip-lock freezer bag with as much air as possible expelled. That should do it.

I took about a cap full of antifreeze and filled the wb cavity.

hopefully this method with secure me for the 6-7 days i need

If Im wrong please some one correct me

Since waterblocks are sold empty and dry, why not simply rinse it out with water and blow air through it to rid it of moisture?

Yeah, that would be the logical thing, but I'm not scientist, I wasnt sure if left over depostis from h20 that dry would cause the oxidation or corosion...

block seems to be fine in af so far

as a drug and chemical enthusiast I've found the WD40, dry, and then apply DampRid works quite well.

Also, epsoms salts can be baked at low temps to get rid of the 7H20 and will then readily absorb moisture

I miss the-hive.ws
