Bought a sword

So I went to KnightMares Online and bought the Sherwood sword for $30 (w/shipping). They shipped the thing all nice and speedy, but the blade had some significant imperfections. The blade was very slightly bent to one side, the tip looked like it had been jammed into a concrete block ( hard to describe) and the hilt was not centerd with the blade. Tell me there's better swords to be found, and that I am not that picky!

Because they apparently sell you shit, much like 98% of the "sword" stores out there.

You're going to pay big bucks for a "battle ready" sword nowadays that was actually forged.

spend a few bucks and get a lightsaber.. ..much better and cuts through most material.. ..

Do you prefer a stabbing sword or a slashing sword? I am partial to swords than I can cleave through mail armor and collar bones with. I don't want to engage in extended swordplay. I would rather lop off my opponents arm and move on the the next target.

I wouldn't even buy a sword from them if I were going to simply mount it on the wall for show. Those swords are utter crap. I could make a better sword out of construction paper. I hate that place.

why do people buy swords nowadays? they have guns for those purposes. 😛

(no, seriously. is it just a display piece or what?)

Most of the time, yes. However, I forgot to take meat out of the freezer for a BBQ I had a few years ago. I had a full rack of ribs all frozen. I had my buddy and I go in the back yard. He tossed up the frozen ribs still wrapped on their little foam plate thingy and I cut them clean in half with my katana.

Also, another friend of mine used to like to scare me by driving over to my place at 2am drunk as hell. He'd bang on my bedroom window and scare the crap out of me. The last time he did it, I grabbed my katana, shot out the front door and around the back to where my bedroom window was. Scared the crap out of HIM, but he just laughed.

He then told this other friend of his that it's funny to do so and that friend, whom I dislike, thought it would also be funny to do it again. However, when I shot out the front door and around the back with my katana again, this other friend pissed his pants when he saw some guy running at him with a katana. Gold.

So... they can be useful. 😛

I have a stone with a sword in it, in my backyard. I can't get the sword out though, but you can come by and give it a try.
