Grew basil before. Boring.

I was thinking about buying an orchid and putting it under it

what do you think?

Grow marijuana.

been there done that. Smoked it all and towards the end I didn't even get high. I tried again. 2 years later still didn't get high. Just ended up paranoid. now forever known with psych issues with a few doctors. won't do it again

I've grown orchids and if you know what you are doing it's a rewarding hobby, but you must do some reading. Orchids are fantastically diverse in form and needs and what makes one thrive will kill another. Some types can't be raised properly under home conditions but the varieties you would usually come across can. That does not mean they take abuse and you will kill them with ignorance. That doesn't mean they are difficult, but they are different.

+1 cilantro. i keep the light almost touching because i like mine short and leafy. not that long stem junk they sell at our grocery stores.

not too sure if I want to grow them. Was thinking about buying one already grown and putting it under the light

I meant grow, as in care for. Most orchids are epiphytes so you can't pot them in soil. Phalaenopsis can't take direct sun, and virtually none will survive dry winter air without humidity. These are all easily remedied if you do a little research.

These 2 are more outdoors but could do it inside too.

Blue Passionflower

The Black Bat Flower

Cool Indoor plants:

Silver Vase Plant

Fire Pencil Cactus

Lucky Bamboo

River Spiderwort

V. flytraps

Air plants are cool too.

Herb gardens are useful as well.

Have you tried putting fertilizer on your head and use the lamp to grow hair?
