Wait, I'm confused here. Why are you trying to get a POP from THEM? Why don't you just give the OEM a copy of the eBay auction and your paypal (or whatever) receipt?

Aren't they asking YOU for a receipt? How is the seller going to furnish proof that it was bought in the US if you just stated you can't buy the phone in the US?

The paypal receipt wont work, I asked. They also wont take the ebay auction receipt, I asked.

AFAIK they dont care where the person I bought it from bought it.

Yeah, its a pretty well known problem with SE phones.

I just open mine up every few weeks, I think its a Torx-6, and clean it.

I have tried opening, cnaned aired it.

I took everything on it apart! It was actually pretty fun. Lots of stuff inside, disconnected it all, but the same problem persissted.

Well if they aren't an authorized seller, you are officially SOL.

If this is true...then damn!

I don't see any other options based on the info you've given.

- They want to know where you bought it from (not the seller).
- They are looking for a certain receipt with special characteristics, and your eBay/paypal combo does not suffice.

Maybe this is just an indirect method for them to deny you service in the USA for a foreign phone.

This reminds me of the deal when marijuana was first outlawed. It wasn't really outlawed at all--you just needed to pay a tax by purchasing a government stamp--only problem was, there was no way to buy the tax stamp.
