It came with some flimsly case, but I think I should buy something a bit more sturdy and better looking, something that can be clipped onto my belt. Is there a particular brand of case or cover I should buy? What else should I purchase for it? I was thinking about purchasing a wireless mini-keyboard for it, but Im not sure how useful it will be.

Hmm, I read the title as "Bought a Palm Tree". I was about to suggest giving it plenty of water and sunlight ... but alas, You are talking about some mystical techie device!

I bought mine at circuit city and it was $253. The main reason I purchased it was because I needed a little extra help organizing my tasks and schedule. I also wanted a PDA with built in wifi. The TX got some good reviews, and a higher rating than the Axim X51v according the CNET. I was considering an Axim X51v, but the $400+ price tag steered me towards the more affordable TX. I set everything up last night. I dont have to clutter my dry erase board anymore, my Palm TX organizes it all for me. I even spent a few hours last night surfing the web downstairs in my basement while watching tv. It's really a great little device and it's very easy to use. Id say if a noob like myself can become comfortable with it, anyone can.

Any particular one I should look at?

BT receiver will just do fine for gps, then you need the software.
don't buy the mini keyboard, the chance is your new palm tx will not be used much.

a wireless (BT) one. try to look for WAAS - it enables higher level of accuracy (tracking). lastly, consider battery life ... and whether or not battery could be replaced; you dont want to switch between charging your pda and your receiver while on the road.

for software stick with TomTom

Conngrats on a great purchase! In terms of price/features TX is impossible to beat. As for the case, I always like Krussel cases. They are very nice for the price and you should be able to find plenty on eBay.

You should be able to find new units for ~$200.00 on eBay.
