Bought a new LCD should I get a DVI video card?

My current ATI 9800 Pro's DVI port doesn't seem to work anymore.. worked with a projector for a while then the projector broke so I bought the LCD and it doesn't work with the LCD go figure... shrug. Should I just use the VGA port? Is there much gain in using the DVI?


Edit: This is for use with a Dell Ultrasharp 2005FPW
