After looking around for a week or two at reviews online, I found a laptop I think I will be happy with when it arrives. The asus Z70Va. I ordered this laptop with 1gb of ram, 2.0GHz centrino processor, an 8x dvd burner, an 80 gb hdd, and wireless a/b/g. The laptop itself comes with an ati x700 video card, and the screen is 15.4" with a native resolution of 1680x1050, the body is composed of a carbon-fiber alloy. It weighs in at 5.6 lbs, and the dimensions are 13.9" x 10.9" x 0.86"-1.34". I will try to get some pictures and a review up when it arrives sometime next week. Oh and supposedly this laptop gets 4 hours of battery life. When I first started looking for a new laptop I considered getting a dell, but then realized I would rather shoot myself than buy a dell, and the deals for Dells in Canada are not that great. Then I looked at the Acer Ferrari, it looked pretty nice, but wasn't quite what I was looking for, and I heard the reflectiveness of the casing made it easy to smudge with fingerprints. So the next laptop I looked at was an asus z71v, it looked ok, but was plastic and I am not a huge fan of Nvidia. So... shortly after hearing about the z71v I heard that there was a new laptop coming out at the beginning of September. The asus z70va, after reading a few reviews for the previous versions of this laptop (similar specs, video card not as good) I decided that this was the one for me, and ordered it from a company in Toronto called lu computers. Grand total with taxes and shipping was $2150 and they accepted credit card payment without charging the 3% fee thats usually charged by computer resellers for credit card payments.
