So my mountain bike finally gave up on me after 5 years and 5K+ miles. Heard a knock in the hub, and rear wheel started vibrating vigorously. It wasn't really fit for road duty since I bike 20 miles a day to work and back now. I will fix it at some point for dedicated off road duty.
Pic of old bike

So for commute, I got me a:
this
Also got 10% coupon and 10% store credit for joining their "team performance."
Actually it was $550 at the store, but I can get a price guarantee during 90 days, so I am going back to pick up my $50 refund. I wonder if they'll adjust the discounts as well. We'll see. Anyways, some things already need adjustment, I kind of came in right before closing, so they were in a hurry and didn't do too good of a job with initial setup, IMO. There is a bit too much chain noise in some gears. Also, I am going to get a set of OURY ATB grips to replace the puny stock ones. But other than that it rolls really smooth, and I think I will be enjoying it, it's comfy, fast, and also it's not so expensive that I have to worry about leaving it outside.
Anyways, first bike in 6 years. I was also very tempted to buy this for $999 and the 20% discount.

Maybe next time.
