bought a LCD, won't turn on

I just got my Neovo f-419 from Newegg, I plugged it in, no power when I press the button. I tried the power cable from my old monitor, same thing.

I hate RMA'ing things threw the mail (wait wait wait...) I was thinking of being daring and taking the screen apart, I have fixed a bunch of my old CRT with fiddling around inside. I've never opened a LCD, and it might be a bad power supply, not just something loose.

I'm going to assume this isn't a wise under taking on a 300 dollar screen, but any suggestions for y'alls?

Do not yield to temptation....Do the RMA thing.

I assume that if you played with CRTs then you ain't no newbie
who can't figure out how to turn on a monitor. Must be a RMA item.

(My first LCD had a extra hidden on/off switch that took me a while to find)
(Had to read the manual yuk)

I actually did the CRT thing in my teen years, had no idea how dangerous they can be. Never caused myself any harm. heheh. I'm guessing the problem is the powe button isn't shorting out the switch to turn the power on. When I plug the power cord in, I can hear it make that wooshy noise. I know I gotta RMA, I just don't want to be weeks without a screen 🙁

pretty got a bad screen. I would rma it and just get a new one. I got mine 2 weeks ago and the monitors great.

NewEgg RMAs are EXTREMELY painless. Log into your account, go to RMAs. Click on the order, click on the button to select either an RMA or refund, you instantly get an RMA number. Mail it back.

It'd be stupid to open it and void the warranty.

Check to see if there is a master power switch on the back of the monitor.

Just a wild guess but try pressing Source. Maybe it is turned on but you're just on the wrong video channel.

I agree with both of these recommendations before RMA'ing the monitor. Another possibility if you are using a DVI cable, is to attempt using the analog cable. Just ensure to switch the source, from Analog to Digital and back, with the Source button.

hummm I don't see a source button on the back, plus when I press the power button, regardless of if the monitor is plugged into the video card or not, the light next to the power button should come on.
