I'm not too familiar with laptops, I mainly work with my horde of desktop powerhouses, but today I decided that I needed to have a laptop to take with me on business trips. I decided, after a friend's recommendation, to get the Dell 600m. Specs are as follows:
Pentium Centrino 1.7 GHz
60 GB HD
512 MB DDR-SDRAM (1 stick)
64 MB ATI Mobility Radeon w/ 14.1" SXGA+ LCD
24x DVD-ROM/CD-RW Combo
16MB USB Key Stick

Total Price: $2146 after rebates, tax, and shipping.
The question for you guys is, did I get a good deal, and how does this rank in the world of laptops in terms of performance and quality?

Hi
I too have a Dell which I have probably sold.
It was a 1.3Ghz Centrino, SVGA+,32mb ATI M9,30Gb,Dvd+CD-rw,and 384mb. For $1054.00
Your price was pretty steep in my opinion. Speedwise, your computer is up there, you can play some of the latest FPS.
The build quailty is quite shabby compared to Dells D600 model which sports a metallic casing.
