Bought a buslink CDRW, says 52 read but when I tested it, its only 19x?

Can anybody tell me why is that?

heres my setup

AMD XP 2500XP at 166mhz
ASUS A7N8X non deluxe
1.gig (2dimm 512 ram) at 166mhz
Windows XP home

Its the master drive to my toshiba DVD rom.


any ideas?
 
Welcome to reality. So marketing said it's 52x? Didn't they tell you it's actually 52x _max_, with the advertized speed only achieved on the very outer rim of a CD that's filled to the max?

On the inner (start) areas of the CD media, it's going to be more like 14x. Your 19x result is well within actual, real life performance capabilities of those drives.
