I live in Nebraska and recently bought a tiny motorcycle (Honda Urban Express) for commuting to work and whatnot. However, I'm not sure how the whole title transfering works. I have the title, but when I bought it, we never signed it and he never put the amount for how much I bought it for on there.

I'm not sure if I am required by law to register and insure it, or if I can call it a scooter because of it's small engine size. I tried Googling it and looking around, but can't really find a definitive answer. I even think our DMV site is down, or something, because I can't get the freaking page to load. I just e-mailed the previous owner and he said Nebraska law changed in 2006, but can't find it...

Any insight? Any Google power users out there?

Seriously, if you call the Plattsmouth office, I can't imagine you'd be on hold for more than a minute or two.

Have you ever tried to call the DMV?

If Nebraska is as bad as Illinois, it means you have to go in person and wait about 3 or 4 hours in a line before you can ask a simple question to an actual person.

Yeah, if I call the Douglas County DMV I'll be on hold forever.

I might take your advice froggy. I was going to stop down at the DMV, but I'm assuming I'll be waiting forever, as well.

I'm pretty sure you need the other guy's signature on the title...at least that's how it worked on my car.

Around here if I had your problem and didn't want to deal with the DMV unnecessarily, I would go to the local PD and ask the desk sergeant. The worst that could happen is he would laugh at me for riding a Tonka toy.
