Got it for costco for $639. I couldn't pass it up. I was about to buy some cheap hdmi cables on amazon when i was reading the reviews and somebody said you need hdmi 1.4 for 3d to work to its full potential. I trust these boards on here A LOT more than amazon reviews, so could somebody help me out please? thank you

Maybe. What components are you connecting? BR player? HTPC? Satellite box? Receiver? And will these devices supprt 1.4?

Edit: HDMI 1.3 will not handle HD 3D. It can handle HD, and 3D, but not both. So at best you'll get 3D in 1080i (which most people cant tell the difference anyway).

Any high speed HDMI cable will pass 3D signals (as opposed to standard speed). Any recently made HDMI cables should clearly indicate if they are high speed or standard speed (the vast majority are now high speed). Technically, cable advertising should not reference any specific HDMI version (e.g. 1.3, 1.4, etc). There are a few FAQs over at hdmi.org that will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about HDMI cables.

On my 3D plasma my cheapest HDMI cable supported 3D while my most expensive one didn't (neither were HDMI 1.4, as they are years old). The trick is that my cheap cable has WAY more shielding (I bought it online). I use DirectTV, my 360, and a HTPC.

If you own a PS3 you can use HDMI 1.3 as that's what the PS3 uses. Just remember while the PS3 can handle 3D. Since it uses HDMI 1.3 it doesn't have room for uncompressed audio. So you will loose uncompressed audio when viewing 3D.

If you get something else then HDMI 1.4.

However you can get HDMI cables cheap anyways so feel free to get some high speed or 1.4 HDMI cables at like Monoprice (if you have other items you want on the site then do a bundle order to save on shipping. Look around.) or Newegg or Amazon. You should never pay more than $10 for a 6ft HDMI cable: http://lifehacker.com/5506219

Monoprice has some Fathers Day sales going on till the 19th. Check it out: http://www.monoprice.com/home/promo...n=Sale_Facebook_2011_Fathers_Day_Landing_Page

There are some great cable prices in this sale. Some are so cheap that the cheapest form of shipping will more than double the out of pocket expense. Since I have about 4 different areas where I use cables, the last time I ordered HDMI, optical, and CAT6 patch cables from Monoprice, I just added an additional 2-3 of each kind to the order. It added about $25 to the order but I figure will save that much in shipping down the road (and I'll never be tempted to pay exhorbitant Best Buy cable prices in case I really need an extra in a pinch).
