I have a 6800GT, overclocked, water cooled ...

My question is, will everyday use at 1920 x 1200 be okay? Can I expect to play anything at nearly that high of a res?

Also, how much of an impact would upgrading to a 7800GT or GTX make?

7800GT = bleh on my 2405FPW so I say 6800GT will suck. Then again, I'm running at stock OC speeds (BFG 7800GTOC). But still. THe fact that I have to play many games at 1680x1050 instead of 1920x1200 pisses me off. The fact htat I need tot urn off some eye-candy pisses me off. The fact that I can't even play 1280x1024 MAX settings with eyecandy (4xAA, 16xAF) for certain games like COD2 or Quake4 pisses me off.

for what you want, your 6800 is more than enough...

you don't need anything higher than what you have

Ok. The system I am running on is 1 1/2 years old - due for an upgrade this Summer. As it is, I have a 3.0Ghz Northwood, Abit AI-7, and eVGA 6800GT AGP. These are the only components I will be replacing - hopefully. When I do upgrade, I will go lesser SLI or greater single PCI-e.

I ran my 2405FPW off of a 9800 Pro for a couple days while I was putting my new system together. Normal desktop stuff at 1920x1200 was fine.

Now I run with a single 7800GT overclocked and I run Half-Life 2 at full settings at 1920x1200.. its definately playable. I also play BF2 with their pseudo-widescreen and it plays ok at those resolutions too. Definately not smooth as butter, but again quite playable.

I run a 2405FPW with my X800XT @ 1920x1200 with no problems. WoW, Battlefield2, NFS:MW, etc. all play fine.
