bottom blowhole?

With all these websites popping up lately showing off highly modded cases, I've started to wonder why people don't put blowholes in the bottom of their cases? it's wide open space for a 120mm fan, and it could really help balance out airflow. I don't think I've ever had more air flowing in through fans than being exhausted. I could definitely see a filter being used if your case is on your floor.

🙂 that topic title is just terrible.

Mine personally is on carpet and the blow hole wouldnt do me any good even with wheels on it because it would sink in to the carpet.

I've certainly thought about it, since my Inwin Q500 has feet that raise it off the floor about an inch. Side blowhole is already doing a great job for me, so I didn't pursue it further.

My case has feet so there is space underneath and plenty of room in the floor of the case for a fan. I think I'm going to put one in with a filter and see how it works.

The only reasons I can come up with to not put a blowhole on the bottom of a case are;

Hot air rises and one on the top would be better to blow hot air out.

Dust (and other crud) settles to a level surface (a desk etc especially if you have kids). If you put a blow hole sucking air in in the bottom of a case make sure you put a filter to keep dust and juniors plastic army man collection out.

Yeah Cat I am going to put in a blowhole on the top of the case as well. One blowing in from the bottom, one blowing out the top..

I actually pulled this off on three of the last cases that I have owned. I used a 120 mm panaflow complete with filter and grille. I like the idea of a bottom blowhole because it maintains the stock look of the case, while providing good cooling.

I've got a 5.25" bay cooler with two 92mm fans that moves quite a bit of air, and room for two 80mm fans in the top back of the case, and a 80mm behind the CPU, so a couple 120mm fans in the bottom and the front blowing in would create pretty balanced airflow, and a lot of it. gotta get a new CPU to make it worth while though. this celeron is pretty weak.
