bottleneck at the vid card?

setup:
AMD dual core 3800+
2GB RAM
7900 GT CO

i'm using dualview - primary display is DVI to my dell 2405fpw and the secondary is to an Infocus projector.

I normally use Media Player Classic to feed a movie to the projector and it can get choppy sometimes.

In order to get the movie to play smoothly I open up the Task Manager to see what apps are using the most resources - I have a few apps (beyond TV(not recording or anything), Firefox, etc..) running that I must close so the movie will run smoothly.

sooo.. ideas on the culprit?

I use an FX5200 in my MCE machine, video is never choppy. However, my connection is s-video to a CRT (800x600), and I don't do dual display.

Regardless, I don't think it's the video card. I'd first suggest cleaning up msconfig to get more resources available.
