Bottled Coke tastes differently! WTF?!...

I swear that bottled Coke tastes differently than the canned Coke. Does the metal can change the taste in any way? It would seem so. 2-liter and 20-oz coke definitely tastes more "pure" than the stuff in cans.

Have you guys noticed the same oddity?..

yeah i prefer cans also for soda...which is weird, cause i prefer bottles for beer...

oh wait...damn its too late at night...beer bottles (glass) is better then beer or soda cans (metal) which is better then soda bottles (plastic)

The glass bottle is by far the best. I often go out of my way to have a Coke in a glass bottle.

Yeah. Actually, I know a guy who works for a Coke and he says they actually have different formulas for different containers (because each formula reacts differently with different containers).

that makes sense.

i was thinking it was because a can and a bottle would let the gas dissipate at different rates
and that might affect how flat it tastes upon opening.

then again, i drink diet coke (or coke light as they call it nowadays)
hehe.

and i prefer can. because it chills longer and i can't drink a whole bottle at a go.

Have you tried drinks at Boston Market (if there is one in your area)? Their drinks taste great. Yep, McDonny tastes too sweet and unnatural for me...

I've definitely noticed a difference, but I think I prefer plastic, but definitely only 20 oz or same day it opened 2 liter. After a day or so of being opened I cant stand pop in a bottle...

Also cans have been linked to minor brain damage or something like that(affects memory or something) Very very minor , well unless you drink massive quantities all the time I guess... God I'm screwed (btw thats not a hoax about the cans and brain effects)

And those little 6 1/2 oz. bottles of Coke seem to be even more potent. No way can I chug Coke from those!

Wrong. Aluminum cans and gas bottles are absolute barriers. There is no permeation of gases through either until they are opened. Unless of course the seal was not properly made during the packaging process.

Coke from the fountain can be messed up sometimes if the store doesn't get the mixture just right. My Burger King does a good job but other places either get the mixture too enriched with fizz or not enough fizz making it too sweet. My School is HORRIBLE at that, everytime I order a fountain Coke it waaay too sweet and has barely any fizz. BLech, that's why I opt for the machines.
