Bottle of Tanqueray + Tonic + Cold/Flu = ?

I'm about 4 days into a killer cold or mild flu. The worst of it, meaning the fever is gone, but I'm still stuffed up and coughing up phlegm all the time. Good news is I still have 4-5 days off work to go so I thought I'd indulge a bit. I decided to go out and buy a bottle of Gin and a bottle of Tonic. Usually I drink Vodka (Iceberg ... nice and smooth). So not knowing what to buy I asked the guy at the counter and he recomended Tanqueray. Got me a 750ml bottle ($26 bucks CDN).

So should I drink it straight or have a night of Gin and Tonics?

Yeah ok so it's not the smartest thing to do for the cold but I really don't feel that bad and feel like getting drunk

What I meant is I have neither so couldn't make any type of martini. But I see what you mean by the Churchill martini:

So basically just chill the gin in the fridge, and have a jar of olives on hand

Meh both are drugs that get you high. 6 of one ....

It's a virus, none of the common off the shelf remedies are actually going to do anything except drug you and make some of the symptoms more bearable. I promise you I'd feel pretty dopey and drugged up the next day if I did shot of Nyquil too.

I like Churchill Martinis. But no olives please. Thus: The Franklin Martini. You'll know it by name soon enough. I promise.
Ingredients: Gin that has been chilled in the freezer or shaken with ice.
Good to go.

Only other martini I like: premium vodka, splash of lemon, shaken over ice. Great as a shot or as a sipping drink.
