Hi. I am just wondering, would it be possible to create a CD that has Windows XP on it, so that I can just boot into windows XP from the disc? Like, say I dont have an operating system installed on my HDD, is it possible to have the operating system (winxp) on a CD and be able to boot it?

Thanks

You're talking about a "Live CD" and as far as I know it's not possible with any version of windows. There are Linux versions that have Live CD's for you to try out.

Bart's "PEBuilder" will get you a stripped-down version of XP on a CD. It's useful for loading Windows-only drivers and so forth, as well as repairing installations.

However, it automatically reboots every 24 hours- something Microsoft built into it.

I think it's Bart that actually did that, to avoid MS's wrath.

Bart's PE CD is fantastic, and if you don't mind the reboots, is a fully working XP (Win32 only) that works VERY well!
