Bots in BF2 SP are funny!

I've only played a little, wanted to practice a bit before a LAN party in the next few weeks.

Anyone else notice that during the installation of the 1.02 patch, the installation menu says 1.01?

Another funny thing is that they keep the heli perfectly horizontally (I was the gunner), and I shouted "Bail out!," and he jumped out, and i just went higher and higher and higher into the sky with the heli. Stupid bots.

SORRY CHIEF!!! I JUST ACCIDENTALLY RAN YOU OVER BECAUSE I WAS GOING 50 BUT YOU DIDNT MOVE WHEN I HONKED WHEN I WAS 2 FEET AWAY!!!

and that patch saying 1.01 is normal. It says it on the BF2 website.

Does SP have any advancement or "progress" ? Or is it just "instant battle" of map after map at your leisure ? I'm still a noob with this game... I didn't find a way to modify the settings like # of respawns (or tickets?) you start a map with.

It's just instant battle stuff.

BF2 is, for all intents and purposes, simply client software for an internet-based application.
