Why would Sony rush to fix this issue?

Reading the online comments on popular gaming forums this is the summary:
-This is not Sony's fault.
-Anyone can do a DDoS attack of this scale, it's super easy.
-There is no point in Sony attempting to prevent against these attacks because people would simply create larger bot networks and attack them again.
-Xbox Live Network is functioning better because? "Beatiojeageaighaoha Phuck Lizard Squad!"
-They won't lose customers or anything as people won't switch consoles over a few days of downtime, especially when most customers have an "allegiance" to whichever brand they picked.

i already have a mint condition ps4 that has hardly been used since launch lol.

I was able to get on last night just long enough to get the bounties. Finally have a stable connection today on Xbox to actually do them.

And Xbox live still has issues. The only thing I use my Xbox for is HBOGO. That it still unavailable since Wednesday.

I too got the email saying my sub expired. Nice that the worthless company can send out emails but can't keep their website up and functioning. I won't be re-upping.

Their gaming servers were ddosed. Their servers for receiving/processing payments didn't go down.

I wonder why no one has attempted to DDoS those...

PSN seems to be back up on my PS3. Got my PS+ subscription renewed though I'm still a bit steamed about that asinine email they sent.

Tried logging on through my PS4 but the connection just times out. Don't even get a maintenance message. Weird how it works for one and not the other.
